NEIGHBORHOOD PLANNING
Weeks Neighborhood
East Palo Alto, CA

This planning project was a partnership between the East Palo Alto Historical & Agricultural Society, the National Park Service, and Urban Ecology. The intent of the Neighborhood Plan was to preserve this unique 300 acre neighborhood despite tremendous economic pressure from Silicon Valley. Many of the current residents want to see a neighborhood that is healthy, safe, and contains a variety of affordable and market-rate housing, and job and business opportunities. The vision is to enhance the unique landscape by allowing for both small-scale agricultural enterprises and market-rate and affordable housing developments. The Plan makes specific planning proposals including 730 new dwellings while preserving 67 acres of open space.
